American Hairless Terrier Dog

  • General Appearance

The American Hairless Terrier is a small to medium sized, muscled and active terrier. Ancestors were bred to hunt rats and other vermin. The lack of coat on the American Hairless Terrier renders them unsuitable for most hunting activities. They have, however, retained a strong hunting instinct and excel in many other activities and sports. The breed is energetic, alert, curious and intelligent.

7-16 inches  5-16 pounds

The AHT does not have major skin problems seen in other hairless dogs.  They sometime get rash on their skin.  They do need protection from the sun and cold.

They need to be taken on long daily walks and enjoy games.
