The Beagle is a small-medium hound dog that looks like a miniature Foxhound. The body is squarely-build with shortest legs. The square muzzle is straight and medium in length. They have large eyes and pendant ears. The coat is medium length that is sleek. They are loving, sweet, gentle and intelligent and make good family dogs. They are sociable and tracking dogs so need enough exercise and stimulation to keep them from wondering off.
Height: males 14-16 inches, females 13-15 inches
Weight: males 22-25 pounds, females 20-23 pounds
Health problems: Some lines are prone to epilepsy, heart disease and eye and back problems. Also prone to chondroplasia aka dwarfism.
